Hello! My name is Shannon and I started godog in Nashville, TN in 2009. I launched in Austin in 2014 and am looking forward to making sure your pets are snuggled in, comfortable, and kept busy in your absence. I take the wellbeing of your furry best friend quite seriously ... so I step in as a secondary best friend in your absence.

godog is a licensed business in Texas and pays all applicable taxes. References are available upon request.

Through my work with dogs over the years, I've discovered a great passion for senior and special needs dogs. I won't charge you extra for changing diapers or cleaning up messes or for dosing meds...that's all part of the package because that's what your pets need. You spend a great deal of time and energy taking care of your four-legged babies, and you deserve a break. I'm here to help. While I do specialize in senior and special needs dogs, I also enjoy and offer services for all dogs, cats, and bunnies. godog does not provide service for birds, rodents, or reptiles.

In addition to offering care for your pets while you are away, I offer training and minor behavior modification services using a gentle, reward & redirection based method. Training can cover basics (sit, lay/down, come, stay) and some times include extras (shake/high-5, speak, and other treat-worthy tricks). Minor behavior modification can include teaching your dog to stay off the furniture, not to jump on guests, not to bark at guests...minor refers to behaviors you might not like that are often unintentionally reinforced by the human. Training and modification are really about training the human because dogs respond best to consistency. That's what I believe.

*Training/Modification is not offered for serious behavior issues such as true aggression. I will happily make a referral / recommendation for more serious issues.

A little about me:

In addition to loving your animals while you are away, I am personally committed to animal welfare and participate in rescue and adoption efforts to the best of my ability. I have a rescued senior jack russell terrier and often have a foster dog. I believe this is a key quality in a petsitter. The person you trust with your pets should be one who values the well-being of animals.
